Since the heat is off (literally)for preparing the actual turkey at Thanksgiving- (Mike and brother-in-law will be deep frying them outside- not sure if I think that is ghetto or a huge relief and kinda cool) I have been rehearsing and list making for all the sides. My hope is is to take the standard sides and desserts up a notch. Pan sauteed brussel sprouts with bacon, garlic mash, stuffing with some unusual spices. Practicing the sides has been fun. But just when I decided to go with the keep-it-simple-and-get-it-done philosophy, I came across this Apple Tart courtesy of A gift wrapped life . Maybe there is room to take my apple crisp up a notch afterall?
